Murrow, carefully planning the destruction of mccarthy by showing the audience that the senator is a reckless man doing un-american things in his crusade against communism. Murrow reveals the baseless nature of mccarthy"s charges and shows him playing the bully in his televised hearings. Murrow provides mccarthy time on his show, where he can"t stop ranting, showing who he exactly is. Murrow shows the power of television, he wins, america wins, and broadcasting does its job of telling truth about power whatever the result. Murrow represents everything broadcast news was not during the iraq war. he was not embedded" with the government, he reported on it did not fear controversy. People relied on him and he tried to be honest with the people. Message is as black and white as the film.
