Causes of mental illness are largely unknown but can be attributed to a cocktail of biological, psychological, and environmental factors. Different classification categories: anxiety disorders, trauma and other stress related disorders, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, dissociation disorders, somatic symptom disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar and related disorders, schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders. Defined as experience of intense and chronic anxiety. Anxiety- a feeling of dread, worry, or fear. There are currently 4 major disorders under the dsm-5 classifications: obsessive compulsive disorder, hording disorder, acute stress disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder. Going to great lengths to avoid the objects or situation that is the target of a person"s fear. Experiencing periods of intense physical discomfort known as panic attacks.
