2. Aids in indexing and retrieval in electronic form

Establishes the context for the research: the area in which the research takes place, the research
problem, the importance of the research, and the guiding question or hypothesis.

Establishes the context for the research: the area in which the research takes place, the research problem, the importance of the research, and the guiding question or hypothesis. The title introduction is often omitted since it is superfluous, check the journal publication style. Provides a clear and concise statement of the problem and why is should be studies (in the first few sentences). Provides a brief summary of previous work and closely related publications. State why/how the present work is different or extends the previous work. For a research paper present the problem, method or experimental basis, major findings and principal conclusion. Should provide enough description of research procedures to allow the study to be reproduced. Reports the outcomes of the research procedure.
