Document Summary

The deeds of the late augustus were escribed on a bronze pillar in order for his accomplishments in life, to be those in which leaders of the future seek to follow. Augustus came from an old noble family of julius caesar. H wanted to restore his ancestors" name back in history. He accomplished this by carving the magnificent deeds that helped the development of the roman empire. He somehow got the senate to insist on him accepting power. Most people would have to put in insane amounts of effort to be granted with power in rome but not him. Many of the deeds accurately mirror augustus" lifestyle, because he sided with the poorer citizens and used his influence with them to advance his own cause. (lewis 99). Augustus was able rule an empire like rome by understanding that the people of rome had to like him.
