Document Summary

After the shock of the great depression in the 1930"s devastating changes came to america that americans could have never prepared for such as distrust in the government, stronger family relationships and emerging beliefs of sexism and feminism. However, the great depression also brought widespread growth of nationalism and unity among citizens that was created through hope to survive and grow better and stronger as a country. The great depression is known as one of the worst economic failures in global history and is the still the worst economic crisis to ever strike america that must be taken as a learning lesson. Some of the causes of the downturn came during the roaring. Twenties, when people bought risky stocks and various items, predominantly luxury items that they could not afford, on credit, where they would promise to pay a percentage then and the rest later.
