Naqada ii begins to have dams and dikes, water storage. Each city was named after a deity. Tombs in naqada ii were decorated with lapis lazuli, a rich blue stone. Buried people in one-story temples called mastabas. Upper and lower egypt were two different kingdoms. End of naqada iii begins the early dynastic period (around 3300 bc)
