Personality disorders: extreme, inflexible personality traits which cause (cid:1) subjective distress or negatively affect social and occupational functioning. Cognition no one loves me , why should i care for others very rigid and extreme way of thinking, very unhealthy. Affectivity lack of emotions, rapid cycling, not a proper regulation of emotions. Cluster a: odd/eccentric ; b: dramatic/impulse ; c: anxious/fearful. Personality disorders are constant, but mental illness is episodic (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) Individuals who meet the criteria for this disorder: reject social norms, are impulsive, manipulative, callous, and aggressive, appear to lack conscience, rarely feel real affection for others, abuse substances, lack emotional arousal. Successful psychopaths (sociopaths) business (ceos), attorneys, doctors. Identical 67%, fraternal 31: under arousal, lack inhibitions, not responsive to punishment.
