History mid-1960s: downtown metropolitan areas started to die, americans were unhappy about this, restoration and rebuilding downtown. History post 1960s: as downtown revitalized, peaks in activity, prices raised, rental and real estate doubled or tripled, many corporations moved to the suburbs. Because land available and reasonable priced land. Highway systems improved, suburban housing developments and shopping centers.
