Contact with items that touch the pubic areas (e. g. sheets, underclothes, etc. ) Rates declining, possibly due to habitat loss (increased hair removal) Contact with items containing mites (e. g. sheets, underclothes) Inflammation of the cervix or urethra, causing itching, burning with urination, spotting, lower abdominal pain. Infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and/or other abdominal structures. Develops in 40% of untreated cases, causing chronic pain, infertility. May get penile discharge, burning at urination, itching, swelling of testicles. Can cause epididymitis and nongonococcal urethritis- inflammation of urethra. Trachoma- chronic conjunctivitis; leading cause of preventable blindness.
