The modern jazz quartet wanted to prove that not all jazz musicians are drug addicts. They also were considered a throwback" group because they used more layered group melodies than solos, which were big in jazz at the time. (watch video: fugue in g -bach for similar example to playlist song vendome ) Parker"s followers convinced themselves he was inspired and justified in his drug use and shortcomings. Jazz attracted all kinds of people now (black, white, hispanic, bohemian) The average person though that anyone could do bebop. +jazz enthusiasts began to misunderstand the artists and the intentions for their music. Homes began to fill with tv sets and rock n" roll began to captivate the youth audience. This ultimately will reshape the culture by the 1960"s. Popular names begin to fill the music scene (i. e. elvis). Jazz artists began looking for ways to call attention back to their music. They tried finding a way to mainstream jazz.
