Advances in motor skills as they become stronger and their body grows. Brain development: by 5 the brain is 90% of the adult weight large perpetual changes, especially vision. Piaget: the child as an active learner. Many factors affect the speed of development. Equilibration: equilibrium, disequilibrium: they realize their schemas are not working. Have to go through a period of major accommodation in order to reestablish equilibrium.
