Revolution (1905); the revolution was unsuccessful: october manifesto (1905): a piece of legislation that gave the people more rights and created a duma- a legislative elected body, but in (1906) the fundamental. Laws decreased any power that the duma had over the economy or ministries. However, after the october manifesto, previously underground political parties suddenly became legal, and two became prominent: socialist revolutionaries: they believed the base of society was in the peasantry.
