Social construction of gender: social construction brief: social construction (or social construct) is any phenomenon. Theoretical perspectives on gender: a deeper analytic must be developed to explain and examine the differences between the genders, there are several theories that attempt to explain gender differences. Women"s liberation: conflict, marxist approach, capitalism, etc , conflict between the sexes, sexes conflict over power. Individual relationships: larger scale conflict, conflict terms, patriarchy the large-scale submission of femininity to masculinity, hegemonic masculinity the domination of all things feminine to the masculine. Metrosexuals: critiques, the idea of consistent conflict does not hold up over time. Groups become aware of conflict and attempt to change it. Even though the groups change with the times, their goal is still to obtain power. Stratification: structural inequality, given that we"ve already discussed inequality in gender and race, why is stratification different, the individual inequalities are characteristics of an overall system, stratification is inequality of the system itself.
