Document Summary

Recognize the inequalities and tries to understand them. Associated with religious practice of modest veiling. The 1st and 14th amendment prohibit state governments from making law prohibiting the hijab. Rfre bars the federal government from restricting women from practicing hijab. Title 7 of the civil rights acts of 1964 prohibits employment discrimination. Sever inequalities, exploitation and abuse of women in afghanistan. Concerns about veiling as representative of oppression/inequality. But transnational feminism is non colonizing and does not reproduce inequalities. If someone undermines a certain group from an area this creates a dilemma. Civil rights complaints by muslim has increased. Hate crimes against muslim americans have increased during election. Many cases of harassment targeting has been to women"s head covering. Veiling has received more discrimination than those who dont practice veiling. Feminism speak about the unveiling but never the inequality tied into it like education and abuse. Our conventions lack reflection and integration of others.
