Projects must actually have positive value from other perspectives (doesn"t have to be moral) The fourth criterion (10) that our pursuits actually have value. Enter machine and experience in life is terrific, in it indefinitely. But in real world friends and loved ones are unhappy. Everyone outside in the real world are going to do really well. Do we only care about our experience and our perspective or do we care about other things that weigh in. important things are happening outside experience. Not just enough to meet first 3 criteria. We do the best we can to determine what is valuable: wolf thinks we have a kind of value-detecting faculty, and that we think we have it too. It is not infallible, but neither are a lot of our other faculties. Want to make sure what we are doing doesn"t lead to trouble: subjective value, egocentrism, and nihilism (16, 17, 19-20, 20-21)
