Document Summary

The moon revolves around the earth while the earth revolves around the sun. We have a particularly large moon (ab of earth"s size) , so it has a huge effect on living systems. It"s the reason we have tides on every beach every day. It also way slows down the earth from spinning faster which allows us to have such long days. Our life on land is only possible because of our unique moon. How long is a lunar day (one rotation of it"s axis in relation to the sun) 29. 5 days. 23,559,000 square miles fast tides and 2 low tides at each beach every day. A large object slammed into earth (like 20 millions years after it formed) and a lot of both the earth and the object melted and some of that created a ring of debris around the earth.
