Uv light + ergosterol (plant sterol) = d2. Body stored vitamin d in limited supply in the liver. In dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats. Sterility in hamsters, guinea pigs, and rats. Encephalomalacia (crazy chick disease) - affects brain and the animal becomes paralyzed. Can be substituted with selenium if there"s none available.
