• very visual
• shows motion
Origin of film?
• phenomenal called critical flicker fusion
• increasing the rate of images to amount up to a story
• old film used to be shot at 24 frames a second
• early silent films were about 16-20 frames a second
Illusion of moving pictures
• apparent motion
• he the hua eye sees otio he there is’t really ay
• so eyes will see not two flashing lights but one single beam
Deciding on the camera and printer
• old cameras were large and bulky
• they only used actual film
• required large teams to work them and move around with them
• old cameras required a blanket or special material to cover them
• and the photographer actually took still pictures then put them on a roll
