Document Summary

Can handle both between-subjects and within- subjects designs. One way anova used for between-subjects designs. Used two ways: testing the same participants in 2+ conditions in one experiment, testing the same participants over 2+ time points. Sphericity means the variances across time points/conditions are equal. Mauchly"s test is used to test for sphericity. Similar to levene"s, a significant result means the assumption is violated. If sphericity is violated, adjusted interpretation is needed. Uses a(n) f-ratio, same as one-way anova. One big difference: individual differences between subjects need to be controlled. Denominator estimates variance reasonable to expect from unsystematic factors. Chapter 13: repeated measures anova (ranova) // 13 november 2018 // page 1. Compute sstotal, ssbetween treatments and sswithin treatments. Done to remove the individual differences from the denominator. Compute ssbetween subjects and subtract it from sswithin treatments to find. Equations for step one! (same as one way anova) P = person totals, summed score for each participant.
