Including the family and small groups we are a part of, and the school we attend. These all give rise to a certain limited perspective and point of view. He believed that the scientific method could be applied to the study of human behavior and society. Believed that sociology should model itself after physics. Sociology should contribute to the welfare of humanity by using science and control human behavior. Society and the social order are not natural or preordained by power, they are constructed by individuals. To have a scientific basis, sociologist must develop methodological principles to guide their research.
