Hopkins decided to extend a line of their other major railway, the central pacific, southward into the valley. (the first capitalists- corporate america) So railroad became a way a lot of people to come to la gold rush! Push factors forces in the country of origin which impels migrants to leave. Pull factors forces in the country of destination which draw immigrants to it. Means those conditions under which the actual immigration is accomplished. 2. 5 million migrated overseas, due to the opium war b/w british and chinese, between 1840: chinese were defeated and forced to open to outside trade by european imperialist countries. 250,000 chinese coerced into slave labor in coolie trade".
