A new performance rights organization (created by the nab!) Now - ascap/bmi both equally represent all musical genres. Collect and distribute 4749 due for both: writers and publishers based just on the performance of copyrighted songs. Board of directors = equal # of writers & publishers. Writers may only affiliate with one pro at a time, for their songs. Songs used in tv ( 30% of total pro income annually) Songs broadcast on radio ( 20% of total pro income) Songs played at venues live/pre-recorded ( 10%) Songs webcast via internet (very little only 5%) Foreign income (all above combined, from non-usa) 35% This is ~ billion received in usa annually.
