Vocabulary declines late in life: within 5 years of dying. I saw the lady who had a rose in her hair that the little girl picked from a garden on her way to school. Better at matching discourse to the needs of the particular situation. Elderly people are as a rule happier than younger people because of this. Overall, they can create their own happiness. It could be argued that infants do communicate with others, but do not have language. The language environment for infants is not solely auditory.
