No empires to take over and trade is not pro table. A new business model: english settlers to grow tobacco. A larger group of land and political power. 3600 people sent to virginia between 1619 and 1622. 3x the total population sent over from the previous 12 yrs. They used to send about 100 a year until everyone died. Because of this new settlements spread out along the james river. 50 acres per person so if you go over with servants they get 50 as well. The company new model has no need for the indians.
