Belief that many nations have common interests and we can create an international system that upholds collective security. Int security implies a liberal view: community of nations, common interests worth protecting, human security. Idealism: asking us to consider security not from a state center view, or a community of states. Rather a new model that security of individuals is protected. Groups are not secured, then the world cannot be secured.
