As we stand back, there are two broad models of personality. All have an essence to us because we have this essence. Random layers but no core, independent reasons: froid approach: the first 3-5 years are formative in who we are, basic personality is laid down there, then, things are pretty much set. Certain things make us good/positive in different ways. Bad ones with parents, siblings: core model of self esteem: our self worth is a function of our inner core and our outer core. Inner core formed through first year of life, genes and unconditional love the child receives. Outer core, however, can grow and expand.
