Renoir wanted everything in focus (no shallow depth of field!!) In cinema, framing, lighting, and focus determine importance. The rules of the game used all of these. His inclusive style seeks to capture everything by combining: Long takes, moving camera, deep focus, moving actors. Non-judgmental, accepting and tolerant, promotes people, not labels.
