Taylorism - time and motion studies, to get as much work done as possible in one hour. Alienation - worker is mentally detached from their labor. Fordism - we are mass producing things, and we have capability. Enough people with enough money to buy our products. Loyalty - job for life, assuming you are white male. Steady promotions and raises - seniority counts. Higher ups in company were there longest. Everyone shared gains when business was good, everyone shared loses when business was bad, some more than others. Unions were important for benefits, 40 hour week, weekends. Secure retirement - nice life after working.
