Document Summary

Not becoming a man or getting man rights . Equity: giving everyone the tools they need to be successful. The personal is political: a lot of times, being a woman becomes a political activity. Misandry is not a political movement: misandry = man hating. Matriarchy: raises up mother figure, inclusive system, but still not the goal of feminism. Power attached to prejudice makes it dangerous: women seen as sexist because they don"t hold as much power as men historically have politically speaking. Today, featured in a lot of documentaries and lectures. Intersectionality: oppression is experienced from multiple axes of identity: not additive, not saying black women experience double oppression because black and women, just saying that the oppression they deal with is different from that of a black man. Two black women sued for a case: they lost, the firm claimed that they hired black men and white women so no discrimination.
