ATEC 3317 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Uv Mapping, Keyboard Shortcut

31 views3 pages

Document Summary

The 0-1 space is the positive quadrant, between zero and one. Stretch map = a checkered texture that lets you know if things are warped. Make one by making a new lambert with a checker pattern. Double click a uv to select all uvs on a uv object. Shaded can tell you if the uvs are flipped - they show up red. The default cylinder uv is a bit of a mess. The wrap around part needs to be stretched. The three shells are separate - fix with stitch together. Scale - the checkers need to be the same scale on everything. When we have multiple objects, we don"t need to stitch them together but we do need to maximize efficency. After each item is done, you need to scale to world (checkers same size) then fit everything in the 0-1 space. Things should be laid out horizontally or vertically, not diagonally.
