Supposedly ~58% of republicans are for having a hearing, possibly not nominating. However, base is against even having a hearing. Used when the majority of reps in the house want to hear an issue but a committee isn"t reporting it. Could there be a way to force a: discharge petition - house of representatives hearing, sc is supposed to be the most insulated from public opinion of all the branches. Ranking of public opinion in uence would be house, senate, president, and court. However, court has sometimes been responsive to public opinion. They don"t have an army to enforce their rulings. Sometimes, court opinions are ignored, court worries about this. This tends to them making decisions that cannot easily be ignored. Supreme court is reactive, not proactive, needs cases brought to it to make a judgement. Very selective about the cases they choose so they can write opinions they want to write.
