More time crunched than science, could still take a while. Politicians are ultimate decision makers in the us. Try to enhance the authority of their own group. All three have to work together to make things work in a modern society. Appeal to expert judgment to generate falsifiable hypothesis. A goal to aim for, nearly impossible to achieve. What happens when you try and publish science. A lot in stake of who gets to make the determination of what we believe to be true, not completely objective in the short run. Make the world how we think it aught to be. Doesn"t offend the community"s sense of what should be going on. Distribution of costs and benefits in a society. As long as we follow the process laid out, the end is justified. We don"t know when we"re going to have a unified model of physics.
