The basic determinants of human behavior are constitutionally (ex. Marshmallow experiment: children 4 years young were given a marshmallow and told to wait to eat it determined self-control & self- discipline, which can predict their future success at jobs/ school, also trouble (ex. Biology impacts how social behaviors are learned (cognitive issues) Pass on genes/ survive- in animals, darwinian approach- strongest survive, innate drive to be the best. The basics determinants of behavior may be inherited. Doctor doesn"t ignore if disease run in your family, shouldn"t ignore chances of depression, etc based on genetics. Much human conduct is rooted in instinct. Fight or flight, instinct is to run for self- survival. The biological roots of human conduct have become increasingly disguised (latent) Don"t always manifest themselves in all of us. Some behavior is the result of biological propensities inherited from more primitive developmental stages. The interplay among heredity, biology, and the social environment must be considered.
