It is conditional freedom as long as the fender abides by certain conditions of behavior. Probation revocation: a court ordered rescinding the probationary status of an offender. Parole: the supervised early release of an inmate from correctional confinement. Parole boards: they grant parole based on their assessment and judgment, mandatory parole, release dates are set towards the end on an inmates term. This type of parole is based upon a statutory decree: medical parole, an early release option based upon the low risk and medical status of an inmate. Report to parole officers at his/her office. Allow home & work visits by parole officers. An act or failure to act by a parolee regarding the terms of release. Increased social costs through new criminal acts: revocation hearing. Discriminatory and unequal effects: a hearing held before a parole board to determine whether or not a parolee or probationer has violated the terms and conditions of parole or probation.
