Document Summary

In this section, vector are indicated by an over-bar, e. g. a . Maxwell"s equation based on total charges and currents. Ma(cid:454)(cid:449)ell" e(cid:395)uatio(cid:374)s (cid:272)o(cid:373)p(cid:396)ise four equations that describe the electric and magnetic fields based on their sources. They were established by james clerk maxwell (1831-1879) based on experimental discoveries of andre-marie ampere (1775-1836), michael faraday (1791-1867) and carl frierich gauss (1777-1855) [jin 2011]. Consider an open surface bounded by a closed contour c. faraday"s i(cid:374)ductio(cid:374) law and maxwell- S (1) (2) where e is electric field intensity (volts/meter), b is magnetic flux density (webers/meter2), 0 =8. 854*10-12f/m=1/36pi*10-9f/m is permittivity of free space (farads/meter), and 0 =4pi*10-7h/m is permeability of free space (henrys/meter). Faraday"s i(cid:374)ductio(cid:374) law (equation 1) shows that a changing magnetic flux can generate electric field. The maxwell-a(cid:373)pere"s law shows that an electric current and/or a changing electric field can generate a magnetic field.
