NURS 3321 Lecture 2: Discussion 2
Document Summary
As for the scenario, i have been fortunate enough to not be put in that position. Sadly, i am sure that a scenario similar to this has happened to many nurses over the years. The nursing peer review is a system that reviews or examines a nurse s services, the quality of their work, what qualifications they have, legitimacy of a complaint about the nurse, and then makes a decision based on those findings. The first type is an incident-based nursing peer review (ibnpr). An ibnpr is conducted once a nurse has either a singular incident or up to five smaller incidents within a calendar year. The circumstances are reviewed to determine if they should be reported to the board of nursing. The second type of peer review is the safe harbor nursing peer review (shnpr).
