Search engines aren"t required to remove links, however some companies have policies in which they remove certain information when it is requested. Google content removal policies: 1) child sexual abuse imagery, 2) nude or sexually explicit images posted without person"s consent, 3) violations of copyright, 4) certain sensitive information. Social security number, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, Users have the right to anonymity on the internet. Some websites have real-name policies which require (but do not always enforce) that users input their real identity. Anonymity: can be used to protect or attack, online; real versus opaque user names. Real name requirements; promote safety and combat incivility. When the information you publish is attached to your real name, you are more likely to be civil. There is a chilling effect against putting inappropriate information out when it is attached to your identity: anonymity in court.
