Know defs: who, what, when, where, why, and how. Chemical bonds: covalent bonding: the sharing of electrons. Holds molecules close together what makes and breaks these bonds. Water is polar the electronegative o attract electrons. Others include (n, s) one end of the bond is positive and one is negative. Non-polar: ionic bonds: gain or lose electrons cations and anions. Chemical reactions are not needed to break them: hydrogen bonds: occurs between o,n, or s. sharing the h between electronegative atoms.
