As economic growth has gone on, so has environmental depravation. January 24: costs that do not appear in any formal accounting systems, pollution -> increased respiratory issues. People who pollute do not pay for healthcare, treatment. Cost for healthcare going up; added burden on society. Cost of healthcare does not appear in formal accounting systems as related to pollution: algae blooms -> water not drinkable.
