The first man and woman create the world (the homeland of the dineh people) by building their home (hogan): they are not really human, more holy and godlike. The medicine bundle holds all the things that can exist in the natural world. Thought and speech take form and walk on earth during the time of creation before becoming these abstract beings. Thought and speech have a child called changing woman. Changing woman is raised by the first man and woman along with their children. She creates corn and then creates the dineh people: she does not create all people. The dineh people are ontologically different than other humans. They are made of corn and residue from her body (skin, sweat, dust,) and the wind. No one thing can do all good or all evil. Things that create disorder are considered evil but. When one causes hocho you get sick and have bad luck and therefore need to do a ritual.
