Daughters/girl children were more expensive to sell or get rid of. Dowry- to give someone money in exchange to take the kids away. The era of foraging (250000 to 8000 bce): Most important development was the neolithic revolution (permanent housing and food security through domestication of animals and development of agriculture) between 20,000 and 8,000. The agrarian era (8000 to 1750 bce) Over 85 percent of population worked in agriculture and population double every 1,500 years. The modern era (1750 bce to present day) New sources of power to increase output of production and population concentrates in urban areas. Bronze dark age- 1250 to 750 bce.
