Bruce barton (1925) wrote the man nobody knows, called jesus the founder of modern business, a model for modern advertising, best seller for 2 years, popularized idea that business and religion went hand in hand. 1920s were a period of cultural change, beginning of modern conservatism started to pop up, many of these movements related to the bible and religion. Wcfa called modernism the product of satan"s lie. Fundamentalism came into popularity at different rates within the denominations. Scoopes trial (1925) refused to not teach darwinism, scoopes but on trial for breaking the law, wjb on the case for the state of tenn. , darrow defended scoopes along with american civil liberties union, Wjb opposed to the teaching of darwinism in schools, wrote anti-evolution books.
