Dwight moody: born in 1837, grew up in a church going family, converted to christianity when he was 19, soon afterward he moved to boston from his rural town, then to. Worked alongside individuals of different types of christianity. Moody"s rhetoric: didn"t scream or wasn"t dramatic, but would move people from one emotion to the next; master story teller, spoke in the language of the common person, arminian. They are examples of what he is trying to preach; illustrations and things that other people can relate to. Estimated that there"s 1 million people who converted to. Believed that sunday had spoken to more people than anyone in all of history, at his time: sawdust trail helped with acoustics if people were shuffling about it wouldn"t cause as much of a distraction. The people would build a tabernacle for him before he would even arrive.
