Degenerative - will continue to make you worse. Deep brain stimulation wires electrodes through the body from the brain. Drill two holes in the skull and eavesdrop on the neurons. As each electrode is put in, they increase the electricity. Drops dyskinesia, 2/3 of medication is gone. A progressively degenerative neurological disorder affecting the brain centers responsible for control and regulation of movement. Pathophysiology: depletion of dopamine levels in the basal ganglia of the midbrain, which is where dopamine is produced and stored. Dopamine promotes smooth, purposeful movements of motor function. Dopamine depletion - impairment of the extrapyramidal tracts with loss of movement coordination.
