Technology plays a huge role in the improvement of quality. Durability: how the product withstands use: abrasion resistance: the ability to withstand rubbing and folding, tenacity: ability to withstand heavy pull force, elongation potential: ability to stretch without breaking, flexibility: ability to bend repeatedly without breaking. Comfort and safety: way a product affects heat, air, and moisture. Ability to protect body from harm: absorbency: retain moisture from the air. Hydroscopic: ability to absorb moisture without feeling wet (i. e. , wool: heat/ thermal conductivity: the ability to transfer heat to the surrounding area, let cooling in (i. e. , cotton, flax, plant-base) Hospitals use cotton blankets to sterilize because they can boil without melting: density: specific gravity measures the weight of the fabric per unit value.
