Kinsey study (studies published in 1948 & 1953) 61% of college-educated men had premarital sex. 84% of men with only a high school diploma had premarital sex. Over 1/3rd of married women engaged in heavy petting with more than 10 different men. Approximately half of the married couples had engaged in oral stimulation of both male and female genitalia. 17% of men had some homosexual experience during their lifetimes scale from 0-6: 0 = completely hetero, 6 = totally homo. Better birth control options, particularly the pill: less risky to engage in premarital sex (no babies) Increasing economic independence of women, women delay marriage, interested in sexual marriages. More liberal attitudes towards sex outside of marriage along with getting married at older ages. Increasing awareness and openness towards women"s sexuality (women"s sexual needs were previously seen as nonexistent or at least much lower than men"s), wanting to satisfy women"s sexual needs.
