Document Summary
Paxton and hughes, chapter 1- i do not have the textbook yet. Roen argues that whether a transgender either chooses to cross or pass when it comes to. This article focused much of its research on the concepts of gender power, specifically in political fields and large institutions. Hawkesworth does not explicitly say this, i believe she would agree that with understanding of feminist issues and gender power will come better representation of women. either/or and both/neither: discursive tensions in transgender politics -- their gender identity should be completely up to them and transgender politics should not be forcing transgenders to be both/neither to feel validated. They then follow up with the idea that choices about crossing or passing are very dependent on each unique individual and different situations.
