Document Summary

Chapter 9 of paxton and hughes (2014) is all about intersectionality and the double. Paxton and hughes, chapter 9 (women from marginalized groups) barriers this creates for women in marginalized groups. For women in minority groups, there is also this battle of which identity to represent. As in, do they stand for a legislature that help women or that helps an ethnic group. This has a lot to do with the hillary clinton and barack. Obama case we saw where black women were accused of betraying women because they voted for obama. Being a minority is not always a draw-back, occasionally it can help women advance politically. So overall, marginalized groups do often have a harder time participating in politics, but that does not stop them from doing it and this is good.
