Developing the right consumer focus is the first step in the system engineering process. It is the core process in developing the voice of the customer (voc). Consumer focus is a strong bias to keep consumers" interests, as defined by data and insight. It should be the first priority in delivering company products and services that exceed customer expectations and deliver maximum satisfaction. There are three main steps in the consumer focus process. These steps are: identifying the target customer, developing consumer insight, needs translation, integrating the consumer focus into the product development process (pdp). Customer targeting is the selection of a consumer group for a product or brand on which you can focus efforts on delivering surprise and delight that exceed customer expectations. Customer targeting enables companies to build compelling products and brands by targeting a specific consumer group in an attempt to delight them and thereby attract a larger group of consumers.
