But people stopped registering to vote to avoid jury duty. Eligible: 18+, read and write english, no felony convictions or convictions pending, Us citizen, live in judicial district for at least a year. Things that exempt: student in the middle of quarter, brain surgeon who is needed, etc. Certain professions got automatic exemptions like doctors, lawyers, judges.
